Understanding On-Request Setup

Use On-Request Setup to set your reservation booking options.

You can select whether bookings and transactions are confirmed automatically, or submitted as on-request, where they must be approved by a property manager before they are confirmed.
You can also select a transaction timeout anywhere from 3 hours to 6 days.
On-Request inventory will be supported for Call Centre Module, booking engine and GDS Transactions.

Many Internet booking engines do not support the use of On-Request. On-Request for most Internet sites is handled as ‘not available’ because these sites do not have the ability to process manual or Type-B transactions.

Caution: Since the Pegasus Distribution Network does not support the On-Request option, Pegasus recommends that you do not use the On-Request option without first discussing it with your Pegasus Representative.

Current Options

Current options are:

Use inheritance Confirm Rule: To use the Chain Level On-Request setting
Auto Reservation: To automatically confirm on-request bookings and payment transactions; which means that transactions for all dates will be handled via Seamless availability processing
Pre-Authorization: Reservation must be confirmed by Owner/Manager before processing transactions
Always – Property as a whole will process booking requests as On-Request; this will be for all rates, items and dates; reservations must be confirmed or denied either before the timeout set or will be auto-denied when the timeout is reached
Calendar – Pre-Authorization Timeout can be set anywhere from 3 hours to 6 days to automatically deny/cancel the transaction.

When the calendar option is selected, allows specific dates for rates, items and rate/items to be set as On-Request while other dates will still be handled via Seamless availability processing.

Reservations must be confirmed or denied either before the timeout set or will be auto-denied when the timeout is reached.

The Pre-Authorization option is not recommended because you will be expected to accept or deny a reservation immediately after it is requested, or within the time frame selected for Pre-Authorization Timeout.
